In June 1949, the U.S. Navy Tactical Force began its invasion when the Saipan / Tinian islands were taken to maintain the absolute defense zone connecting the Mariana Islands from the Kuril Islands. On the defending side, the Japanese Navy mobilized nine aircraft carriers and a fleet of air carriers. This kit reproduces that epic battle with three aircraft carriers, an escort ship and air cruiser, and 8 destroyers. Prepainted in-scale aircraft are also included, as are two display panels providing an ocean surface for your fleet. Snaps together, no glue is needed!
