Among the German tanks of World War II, the Tiger I overwhelmed Allied and Soviet troops with its power. Deployed in each heavy tank battalion, it demonstrated its strength in battles on each front, from the North African Campaign to the Italian and Eastern Fronts. However, at the end of the war, the vehicles were exhausted significantly, and the reorganization was repeated to maintain the troops. One of them was a unit called Gruppe Fehrmann, formed in early 1945. It consisted of six Tiger I and five Panthers, and was commanded by Lieutenant Fehrmann, after whom the unit was named. Vehicles deployed to this unit were numbered after an F to indicate the unit name. Gruppe Fehrmann was deployed to the Ruhr region of the Western Front, and fought fiercely against the Allies.
This model kit from Dragon accurately reproduces the Tiger I used by Gruppe Fehrmann by using parts from a previously released kit of the Tiger I. The body uses a late chassis, and the turret is an early version, leading to a truly unique look. The details of each part are carefully expressed, down to the welding marks and hatches. The hatches can be assembled opened or closed, and the hatch interiors are also fully detailed; the undercarriage with a movable torsion bar uses a prefabricated Magic Track for a realistic finish. Decals are included. Order yours today!
