The Battle of Kursk has gone down in history as the greatest tank battle of all time. The German Army referred to it as Operation Citadel, and it was deployed around Kursk on the Eastern Front from July 5 to Aug. 23, 1943. A total of about 6,000 tanks were introduced by the German and Soviet forcers, and fierce tank battles unfolded on the vast Russian plains. The Soviet Army introduced T-34 tanks, while the German Army participated in Panzer III, IV, Panther V, and Tiger I tanks, as well as self-propelled guns such as Hornisse, Brummbear and Ferdinand. It was recorded as the largest tank battle in World War II, and in subsequent history as well.

This set of model kits from Dragon includes three iconic tanks: Panzer III N type, Panzer III M type, and Panzer IV G type from the German vehicles that participated in Operation Citadel. Both of the Panzer III kits come with Schulzen; the Model IV G was produced from April to May 1943. Each kit features the detailed reproduction and realistic finish that Dragon is known for; the set comes in a special box with illustrations by Mr. Bolstad, who is familiar to military fans worldwide.
